THE AMOKURA ALLEGATIONS.

Ml! HARP IX Wjai.IXGTOX. [PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.] WELLINGTON, March 19. Mr J. G. Harp, the publication of whose letter in a Hamilton paper resulted in an inquiry into the alleged maltreatment of boys on the Amokura, interviewed the Minister for Marine to-day and asked for the assistance of counsel. This was refused, but he was assured that he could visit the ship and would be afforded every facility in connection with the inquiry. His evidence will be taken to-mor-row evening. Mr Campbell, late second officer of the Amokura, arrives from the north to-morrow and will be examined. The inquiry is not likely to conclude before the end of the week.
