THE ORINGI CAMP.
A BIG GATHERING ANTICIPATED. THE GISBORNE ARRANGEMENTS Arrangements in connection with next month’s big infantry oamp are well advanced, and tho encampment promises to be one of the most complete held so far. Tuesday last was the last day on which applications were received for leave from attending the camp, and comparatively few applications were forwarded locally, the men apparently being anxious to attend the camp. On April 11, the country members of the Company (Patutalii, Manutuke, Whatatutu, and Te Karaka) will leave Gisborne by tho ferry steamer Takapuna and form an advance guard for the regiment. For thoso two days the duty of the advance guard will entitle the members to 2s per day extra pay, the ordinary camp pay being 4s per day. .On Sunday, April 13, those men who are required to put in four extra days to make up for parades not attended will go down and serve the four days they are ordered in for, while the remainder leave by, the Taka puna on the 18th.
