NOTES.
The scow Alert arrived at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The Takapuna, in spite of tho heavy sea which was running, came up to the wharf on Sunday morning with a large complement of passengers. She will leave for the Southern port at 8 o’clook this evening. The Rosamond left for Waiaka, with a load of sheep on Saturday afternoon. She returns on Thursday for a further load.
The Monowai left Auckland at 4 p.m. on Saturday, passed Bast Cape at 9.40, did not call at 'l'oltomaru, and arrived in the Bay at 7.15 last night. She put out to soa on finding the anchorage too rough, and will be tendered at 6 and 10 a.m. this morning. The following passengers have booked by the Monowai: Misses DoLautour, Evans, Copeland, Robinson ; Mesdarnes Gray and two children, Yardley, Pit tar and two children; Messrs Hird, Atkinson, Johnson, Thompson, llislop, Capt. Hennah, Moßeath, J. Vita, C. MacDonald. Browning and Bull. • The Kowliai will not now leave Dunedin until Wednesday on her northward run. The Mokoia arrives from the South on Wednesday. . The Shaw, Sat ill and Albion liner llangatira arrived in the Bay at 5 o’clock last night and put out to sea again soon after. . „ , The Tyser liner Hawke s Bay is due from Napier this morning. . The Canterbury steamer Petone is due to-day from Picton with a load of produce. _ ~ The Opouri sailed from Greymouth yesterday witli a full load of timber. Blie should arrive to-morrow afternoon. The s.s. Maitai arrived from South on Saturday morning, and sailed for Auckland via Tokomaru Bay shortly after noon. Her cargo for Gisborne included 262 sacks oats, 40 cases milk, 36 drums sodium, 40 cases jam, 27 boxes candles, 275 sacks potatoes, and a large quantity of general sundries.
