[INDEPENDENT PRESS CABLE.] LONDON, March, 28

During last year there were 38,597 accidents in the United Kingdom, compared with the total of 35,210 for the orovious year. Statistics just issued show that motorcars are responsible for the growing dangers on the roads, and the accidents caused by horse-drawn vehicles are decreasing, v The number of accidents last year in London was 1.7,189, of which 538 were fatal.
