ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.
TWO FATAL FALLS FROM TRAMS * [PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.] WELLINGTON, April 7. Alexander Stitt, of Westport, fell off a tramcar near the post office, on Wednesday, and succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. CHRISTCHURCH, April 7. Adeline Edith Coombes, aged about 25, residing at Papanui, was killed by a fall from a tram last night. When approaching Sawyer's Arms road stop she evidently thought the car had stopped. She jumped off and fell on her head. DIED FROM EXPOSURE IX A MOTOR BOAT. NAPIER, April 7. John Peter Panning, single, aged 27, died last night on the Pctane road. He had been out all day in a motor boat, which broke down on his return. A high wind drove the launch up the inner harbor, whore it went ashore. Panning attempted to keep it floating to save damage. An hour later he showed signs of collapse. His mates carried him to the shore, but bo died before medical assistance could be obtained. The night was wild, c-okl and wot, and it is thought his death resulted from heart failure brought about by exposure.
