WELLINGTON.—The Mayoralty election resulted: —Mr. J. P. Luke, 9994 rates; Mr. D. McLaren, 9486 votes; majority for Mr. Luke, 508 votes. CHRISTCHURCH.—The Mayoral election resulted:—Mr. H. Holland (present Mayor), 7869 votes; Hr. Thacker, 4055 votes; and J. Mcßride, (Social Democratic candidate) 3477 votes The vote on the statutory half-holiday resulted in Saturday being selected, the voting being—Saturday, 9326; Thursday (present jhailfholiday), 5454. For the Neav Brighton Mayoralty Mr. C. H. Winny was elected. At Lyttelton Mr J. R. Webb was returned as Mayor, and at Riccarton Mr. W. IT. Reynolds. DUNEDIN.—The Mayoral election of Dunedin City resulted as follows : Cr. Stewart, 5527 votes; W. Belcher, 4368 votes ; Cr. Shaddock, 3699 votes. 'ln Mornington Mr. S. Solomon, the retiring Mayor, defeated Mr. A. P. McCarthy bv 596 to 261. NAPIER. —The Mayoral election resulted:.—Mr J. V. Brown, 3729 votes; Mr. J. P. Thompson, 1121 votes. The Harbor Board election for three members representing the Napier Borough resulted as follows:—Messrs. J. V. Brown, 2278 votes; J. Niven, 1924 votes; F. W. Williams, 1855 votes; W. J. McGrath, 1854 votes; J. D. Ormond, 1817 votes 1 ; H. J. Holder, 1789 votes; D. McGrath, jun., 390 votes. Messrs. Brown, Ormond, and Holder advocated the completion of the breakwater harbor, and Messrs. Niven, Williams, and W. J. McGrath the construction of the inner to admit vessels of deep draught. The election excited a good deal of interest owing to the rival tickets. WANGANUI.—Great interest was taken in the elections to-day. Mr. J. B. Williams was‘elected Mayor. The Thursday half-holiday was adhered to. PALMERSTON NORTH. The completo returns are not in yet,' but it is certain that the Wednesday halfholiday was carried. Messrs. M. Cohen and John Cobble were returned as members of the Wellington Harbor Board, 'flip Mayor (Mr. j. A. Nash) was re-elected unopposed. MASTERTON. The Masterton Borough Council elections were keenly contested- between the Labor and commercial interests. Only, one straightout Labor candidate rvas returned, and lie was a retiring councillor. The councillors elected were Messrs. A. E. Winzenborg, R >J. King, J. D. Temple, G. W. Seller, W. Kemball, J. Candy, J. C. Ewington, E. Flanagan, and H. J. O’Leary. MARTON.—Mr. J. H. Miles was elected Mayor. TAIHAPE.—The Mayoral election resulted: —Mr. W. McLennan, 469 votes; Mr. H. D.. Bennett, 293 votes.

FOX'TQN.—The keenest interest yet evinced in tire municipal electrons was displayed. The Mayoralty resulted:—Mr. G. H. Stiles, 529; Mr. J. L. Harvey, 199. NELSON.—The City Mayoral election resulted:—Mr. W. Lock, 1226 votes; Mr. W. W. Snodgrass, 1134 votes.

TIMAIUJ.—Mr. W. Angland was elected Mayor (four eandiates), with a majority of 18 over Mr T. Hawkey, the present Mayor. WESTPORT.—There was record polling at the election to-day for the Mayoralty. Mr. A. Leaver was elected with 1045 votes; Mr. T. O. O’Brien registered 643 votes ; and Mr. T. Sqmeul 306. INVERCARGILL—-For the Mayor, alty Mr. Duncan McFarlano defeated Mr. Andrew Bain by 77 votes. The Council elections resulted in the return of 11 members of the Citizens’ ticket and one Labor candidate, who was a member of the last Council. Th e weather was showery, but the polling was- fairly h eavy.
