NOTgS, - The Takapuna, which is -due this morning from Napier, will sail at 8 o’clock this -evening on the return trip. The M'okoia sails from Napier this evening for Gisborne. and is duo to-morrow morning. .Sho will be tendered by one launch only at 6 a.m. The steamer has been delayed in the south by rough weather.
The Indrabarah is expected to sail tonight for Wanganui. There was a considerable swell on yesterday, which rendered the loading operations more arduous. . - The Coronation is due to sail to-morrow for Wliaiigaparapara, where she will load another cargo of timber for Gisborne. It is probable that‘in the near future the Huddart Parker Go’s Victoria will be run In conjunction with the.U.S.S. Go's steamers between Auckland and Dunedin, as an intermediate boat, leaving Dunedin on a Friday and after working the coastal ports-on route, arriving at Auckland on the following Thursday and reaving there on the return trip on Saturday afternoon. It is rumored that-the outcome of tin' recent conference in Melbourne between the heads of two of our large shipping companies will be a better coastwise service between Dunedin and Auckland, and also a much-needed improvement in the Sydney-Auckland service: It is to be hoped something more tangible thifn the rumor will eventuate. The Huapehu has arrived at Wellington and her Napier transhipments should arrive next Thursday or Friday. The Maitai left Auckland yesterday afternoon for south, and is due here tonight, and will be tendered on arrival and at 7 p.m. The Pakeha, which sailed for Wliangarei on Monday, shipped the following cargo for Home ports: Gisborne Sliccpfarmers’ Frozen Meat Co., 15.121 carcases mutton, 4072, carcases lamb, 1787 quarters beef, 280 casks tallow and pelts, 255 cases preserved meats, 28 bales wool; Murray, Roberts and Co., 242 bales wool and 59 casks tallow; Dalgety and Co.. 60 bales wool; Common, Shelton and Co., 79 bales wool.
