MAKARAKA DOMAIN BOARD.

MEETING LAST EVENING. A meeting of the Makaraka Domain Board, which consists of the members of the Borough Council, was held last night, the Mayor (Mr J. R. Kirk) presiding. The following report was received from the ex-Mayor (Mr W. Pettie): — “The Mayor and Cr. Sawyer, who were appointed a Committee to view the Makaraka Domain and select a site for a landing jetty, have to report that they undertook their mission on Monday, 29th April, 1913, at 2 p.in., and they have to recommend that the jetty be placed at tho town end of the Domain upon tho site where th© previous one was erected. Thev also suggest tliat tenders bo called for erection of same as early as possible; and further, they have to state that tho fences require overhauling, and the main entrance gate requires _ attention; there are also a few briars in the enclosure that v want eradicating, otherwise the Domain appears to be in very fair order.” , The report was adopted.
