The following passengers had booked last night to leave Gisborne by Messrs Redstone and Sons coaches this morning; —For Wailiau (Loisel’s), Mr Sweeney; for Tokomaru Bay. Rev. Mr Kimberley, Mr Brickdnle; for TV harerata', Miss Grey; for Wairoa., Mr. Moloney.

A P.A. wire from Invercargill states that the death occurred there yesterday of Mr. Robert F. C-utbbert-son, aged 73, a. very old resident of Southland, and for many years secretary 'of the Southland A. and P. Association. He recently retired from tliaf 'position owing to. ill-health and advancing age, and his end was not unexpected.

Mr. L. D. Browett, Chief Inspector of Factories, Dunedin, has arrived in Wellington, en route to inspect various shearing sheds in the Gisborne district. The matter of the accommodation provided in certain sheds was' brought under the Minister's notice, and Mr. Denis Carmody was commissioned to make the mspectiQU,- but ho.has’been" iwlisposed.

Mr. J. B. Bush-Brown, who has been in Gisborne for some weeks engaged in the compilation of AVise’s N.Z. Dictionary, left last evening for Napier, where he will remain for some tim.e

Tho wedding of Mr. William HallJones, eldest son of Sir AVilliam Halljones, to Miss Mabel Marshall, eldest daughter of Mr. J. -T. Marshall, overseer for.the Public AAMrks Department, took place at the residence of the bride’s parents at Matawai on Saturday.
