Tpress association telegram.] DUNEDIN. June 3. Several ladies connected with kthe Young Women’s Christian Association waited upon Hon. 11. D. Bell to-day,' for the purpose of inquiring to what extent tlie Government proposed to depend upon the Dunedin Branch Hostel in connection with the immigration of domestics to Dunedin from Great Britain.
The Minister stated that the Government had no intention of overtaxing the accommodation of the rooms at any time, but would depend, upon the ladies governing the institution to supply the .Department with tlie names of suitable persons to whom newly-arrived domestics could be directed, so as to be certain of having good lodgings during the time they might have to await suitable engagements.
