foundation stones laid YESTERDAY. [PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM! WELLINGTON, Juno 9. T'lio foundation stones of the new Salvation Army Training College to I>e erected as a memorial to the late General Booth, were laid this afternoon by the Premier and Commissltmer Richards, who each made brief speeches dealing with the work of the organisation and life of the General. The estimated cost of the buildingLs £9700 and the equipment, etc., will ■bring the total to about £13,00(). At present £9763 has been raised. Hon. F. M. 13. Fisher also spoke, ancl suggested that the day , might qome when the Government would find it advantageous to hand over control of charitable institutions to the Army.
