Laura Lennox, sentenced on June 17 in connection with the suffragetto conspiracy, has been released owing to hunger striking. The police have been vainly searching for Lilian Lenton, who escaped, it is believed disguised as a van hoy, though several detectives have been watching the house day and night. Thirty cartridges, together with oiled rags and a burning taper were discovered at St. John’s _ Church, Southend. The fire was extinguished without damage. The east wing at the Gatty Laboratory at St. Andrew’s' University has been burnt down. The window pane was covered with soft soap. A dozen tins of petroleum were discovered in the building. Many valuable scientific drawings were destroyed, and the damage is estimated at £SOOO. Several thousand people at Camborne mobbed suffragettes who were marching from Land's End to London, and pelted them with eggs. The suffragettes took refuge in a hotel and escaped by T-he back door in disguise. A large crowd at Blytli mqbbed two suffragette speakers. The police rescued them with difficulty. Kenney, Barrett and Lake have been released after hunger-striking. The “Express” protests in view of Mr Justice Pliillimore’s warning when sentencing the prisoners.
