Postmaster-General, in the House of Commons, stated that the Post Office staff was not oualified to erect long distance wireless stations, and the Admiralty was unable to spare its staff. The Marconi Company was agreeable to a new contract, but owing to the increased price of materials the stations would each cost £6OOO more than the previous quotation. The company guaranteed the stations to work under all conditions, at twenty words a minute.
