THE DIPHTHERIA OUTBREAK
[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS] TLWARU, July 15. Diphtheria has been somewhat prevalent of late in Timaru and AVaimate, and tho Hospital Board to-day decided to ask the Department’s permission to use the Talbot fever hospital for such cases, which are now' in a separate ward in the general hospital, but have not separate nurses. Tho Board received a circular from the Department regarding the precautions against smallpox, and it was decided to obtain a supply of lymph to be available for medical men at the Hospital. The Department approved of the Board accepting as a donation—carrying subsidy—the sum collected by the St. John Society for the purchase of a motor ambulance.
