THE LYTTELTON SENSATION. [PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM,} CHRISTCHURCH, August 8. At the Magistrate’s Court this mornin- Wilfred Edward Harper, the young man who was arrested at Lyttolton in connection with the shooting of Acting-Detective Carney, appeared charged on remand that on July 26th, with intent to resist lawful arrest. he caused actual bodily harm. Accused was not represented by counsel and was committed for trial.
