[PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS] CHRISTCHURCH. Football results Christchurch Boys’ High School (8) v. Timaru Boys’ High School (0); Canterbury (6) v. Waiau-Kai-koura-Olieviot (3.) The annual match between North and South Island jockeys resulted in a draw, neither side scoring. DUNEDIN. A football match between Old Boys and Zingari-Richmond, the premier teams in Christchurch and Dunedin respeotivelp, was played yesterday. The weather was dull and the ground heavy as a result of drizzling rain in the morning. The match was given as a benefit to A. Downes, formerly a prominent player, and lately one of the ablest and most popular referees. The attendance was about 4000. The visitors were too fast and too clever for the local team.and placed the issue beyond doubt in the first spell, eventually winning by 18 points to 6. Five minutes after the start. Hickmott scored a good try for the visitors. Bain converted from a difficult angle. After 20 minutes play a fine passing rush enabled Guthrie to score for the visitors, Bain again converting. Immediately afterwards Bond kicked a good goal for the home team from a free kick. From a throw-in a little later. Old Boys broke away, and the ball bounced over Torrance’s head, fast following up resulting in L. Parson scoring near the posts, Bain again converting. A fine rush in which Crawshaw and Taylor were prominent, ended in Boag scoring. Bain failed with the kick. Early in the second spell Bond kicked a goal for Zin-gari-Richmond from a free kick. After this play slackened down, and both sides' displayed less dash, but the visitors generally had the upper hand. In a curtain-raiser, University beat Pirates by 20 points to 11. WELLINGTON. At Rugby Athletic beat St. James by 11 points to 3, Petone beat Wellington by 8 to 5, Victoria College beat Melrose by 11 to 3. Poneke beat Oriental by 13 to At Association Hospital beat Swifts by 5 to 1. Y.M.C.A. drew with St. Johns 2 goals each. Rovers beat Brooklyn 13 to 2. Diamonds beat Wanderers 8 to 1. Thistle beat Corinthians by default, thistle has won the championship.
