(Received' Aug. 22, 9.45 p.m.) CAPETOWN, Aug. 22. The Trades Federation has agreed to attend the conference if it is separately represented apart from the miners. The Federation will also confer with the Minister for Mines respecting legislation for non-mining industries.
A MUSIC HALL FIRE. (Received August 22, 6.15 p.m.) LONDON, August 22. A fire at the Empire Music Hall at Chiswick was caused by the fusing of electric wires. The firemen’s efforts to quell the outbreak weTe unavailing owing to their inability to lower the safety curtain. The damage is estimated at £lB,000.
