“Vivienne” is delighted with the number of really helpful recipes that have been sent her lately, and wishes to thank all those who so thoughtfully sent them. Will some more of her readers who have some tested recipes kindly forward them for publication, and thus, aid in a good cause. LEMON JAM. Six lemons; Gibs sugar; 18 breakfast cups of water. Slice lemons thin and pour water over them; let it stand all night. If too bitter pour off some of the water and add the same quantity of fresh. Let it boil for two hours before you add sugar; then boil till clear amber. » * tt CHUTNEY. Two pounds apples ; 21bs tomatoes ; 31bs sugar; lib sultanas; 2 onions; 1-1 ozs. salt; soz. cayenne; loz. ginger; -o-.oz. allspice; 11 bottles of vinegar. Boil for two hours, slowly.
