The resumption of racing at Belmont Park, New > York, was witnessed by 2.3,000 people on the'opening day, but this number fell away to 5000 on the second, day. Betting is carried on -under much- restriction, but it goes on despite a small army of policemen and club officials on iguard to prevent public wagering.
