JTfce following are the readings of th© barometer in our office, taken at 0 a.m. each day:—

METEOROLOGIST’S REPORT.

Present indications are for boisterous and unsettled weather, with rain generally ; electrical disturbances in the south and on the West Coast of the South Island, where conditions are particularly threatening. High northerly and westerly winds are probable, but are likely to change to southerly in the south in from 24 to 36 hours, the barometer falling in the meantime for a westerly storm area now in evidence. .
