MINISTER'S LECTURE FEE
Much comment has been aroused by the leave of absence granted to Mr Bryan, the Secretary of! State, to permit him to fulfil a six-weeks’ lecturing tour, for which he is to receive a fee of £2400 (states the, New York correspondent of “The Daily Mail ’ on July 14). , Before he \va» placed at the head of the American Foreign Office Mi Bryan was earning as a. lecturer between £SOOO and £6OOO a year, in addition to the interest on his' investments, which are,computed at £400,0000.
