CRICKET
MEETING OF P.B. ASSOCIATION. PROMISE OF A RECORD SEASON. Tlio Management Committee of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association ivus held at the British Empire Hotel last evening, there being present Messrs H. E. Hill, E. W. Harvey, P. Sheridan, S. S. Dean, J. Cahill, J. Charles, A. Morrison, G. York, A. Casain, J. Boreham, C. Harford, Geo. Webster, and F. C. Walker (secretary). Officers and committees were elected as follows: —Chairman, Mr H. E. Hill; deputy-chairman, Mr E. W. Harvey ; ground committee, Mr Fred Walker; postponement committee, Messrs E. W. Harvey, Geo. York and the secretary; entertainment committee, Messrs H. E. Hill, H. E. Maude and the secretary; • sole selector, Mr O. R. Olsen. The secretaries of clubs must furnish to the secretary of the Association with a duplicate list of all players such lists to be graded, junior and senior. Permission wias granted Waingake Club for a match on the Domain on 25th October. Some good trophies have been received by the Association for the season, which promises to be a record one. An invitation was received from Taruheru to any club wishing to play a match at Taruheru on Saturday next. The concrete wicket is ready for use now, and players are requested to roll up on Thursday next for a scratch match.
