LIBERAL RALLY AT PALMERSTON

CONSIDERABLE ENTHUSIASM DISPLAYED. [PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM] PALMERSTON N-, Oct, 13. A Parliamentary party, consisting of Messrs. Russell, R. W. Smith. Atmore. Isitt, and J. C. Thompson, paid a visit to Palmerston to-night to reply to the Reform rally and the visit of the Premier. They addressed a crowded meeting. The speeches were on general lines, and there was considerable enthusiasm at times. At the conclusion a resolution was passed recognising Sir Joseph Ward s patriotic action in accepting the leadership of the Liberal party, and hoping that before long he would be again governing the destinies of this country. Cheers were given for Sir Joseph Ward and the Liberal party.
