ROWING

THE GISBORNE CLUB. The weekly committee meeting of the Gisborne Rowing; Club was nelcl in the Boathouse last evening. There were present: Messrs Hansen (in the chair), Pvcroft, Fraser, Jeffreys, Faram, Winter, Gerrard, Quigley and Hutton. Several resignations were received, and Messrs H. R. Boyd and N. M. Douglas were elected new members. The treasurer submitted a statement showing the position of the Club’s overdraft with the bank. A sub-committee consisting ol Messrs Cowan, C. W. Muir and B. C. Jeffreys was appointed to make all arrangements in connection with the Chib’s Theatre night to !>e held on Friday, November . Tickets for this evening are now otbainable from any member of the committee. Messrs D. Cowan, I. J, Quigley and D. Hutton were appointed a subcommittee to meet the Poverty Bay Club and arrange a programme ror opening day, November 8. Messrs I. J. Quigley and R. J. Pyer&ft were appointed a visiting committee for the ensuing week. Members are reminded that entries oloso on 19th' inst. at 10.30 a.m. for the first fours, and all now members" especially are requested to enter for these races. Strokes are also requested to attend to pick their crews for the "A” grade fours.
