The Orete -arrived yesterday with 291 bales of wool and a quantity of empties from Awanui. , „ _ , The Canterbury Co.’s Petone left Lyttelton yesterday for Gisborne, via Timaru, Oamaru, and Napier, and is due to arrive- here about Friday. Tho steamer will bring a large general cargo. The Awanui arrived from Auckland, via Tokomaru and Tologa, last evening with general cargo. Captain Br6wn is now in charge of the vessel. TELECRAPHIC.
