THE WEATHER.
METEOROLOGIST’S REPORT. Present' indications are for strong variable winds easterly and southeasterly predominating. The weather is likely to prove unsettled, thick, and foggy generally and very boisterous along the East Coast and in the northern portions of the North Island, with heavy rain and rivers rising in those districts. The barometer is unsteady, but a further fall is likely to take place everywhere shortly.
