Present indications are fora temporary increase in atmospheric pressure, but a westerly disturbance is likely to succeed shortly and the general outlook for Christmastide is at present not reassuring. The southerly winds nonprevailing will probably change by the west to northerlies and again increase a brief improvement in weather conditions being followed by increasing cloudiness with'rain later.
