Lieut, Harry Palmer, whose death at the front from pneumonia is announced;, was one of tins best-known men in Palmerston North. lie was the son of Mr Frank Palmer, oi Auckland, and was horn there -15 years ago. As a voting man, lie settled in Palmerston and took an active part in volunteering, athletics, friendly society, amateur operatic, and educational matters.
