ENTERTAINMENTS

WORLD’S PICTURES

The popular photo-play serial, “The Trey o’ Hearts,” is fast nearing completion, and to-day the World’s Pictures are screening episode 14, the last instalment but one. The adventures of the various characters have been of a highly sensational character, but still more, excitement is promised! in the current series and the final scenes next week. The plot develops very fast, and some most thrilling scenes, in which some hair-raising motor cycle accidents and death-defy-ing feats with an 80-horse-power car, are apparently only mere incidents in the drama. The most startling scene is perhaps where Marrophat and his sattelite Jimmy are pursuing Alan in their car. To escape he directs a powerful hydraulic sluicing jet which hits tlio car like a cannon hall anil overturns it down a cliff, which means exit Marrowphah andl Jimmy for good. Fo:r next Alonday, when the final screening of “Trey o’ Hearts” takes place, the World’s management are preparing an unusual attraction which has never been attempted in Gisborne before. Details will be fully published later.

OB ERA HOUSE PICTURES

Tlie Opera House was packed from floor to ceiling on Saturday evening, when a splendid programme was screened. Two splendid star subjects were included in this delightful series, “The Derelict” and “Love, Speed, and Thrills.” This is a good sensational Keystone star comedy, and is one of the most strenuous farces ever shown on the screen. An exciting and thrilling story, “A Night’s Adventure,” is produced by the Reliance Company. An industrial film work, “In U.S.A. Arsenal,” is of great interest, and shows the making of American flags. The latest War Budget is highly entertaining, while “Cuiey’s Vacation” is a splendid Yitugraph comedy. This attractive series will be. screened again this evening.
