MEETING OF COMMITTEES.
a The various committees of the Bora ough Council met last night. There a were present: Tire Mayor (Mr. AY. G. a Sherratt), and Crs. G. C. Munns, T. ■ G. Lawless, iff. E. Hill, J. Brown, and a G. Wildish. ■ Leave of absence was granted to a Cry Miller, Bright, Collins, and Wade. ■ It. Thelwall wrote in regal'd to pro- ■ seditious under the I)og Registration a Act, and it was decided to allow tiro ! collector one-half of the lines imposed to recuperate him, as he was not a salaried officer. The Mayor reported that on Friday last, Ire, in company with Crs. Hill, Miller, and Mumis,'paid a- visit to tiro abattoirs, when everything was found to he satisfactory. It was decided to offer about 40 acres between the abattoirs and sanitary depot for lease, upon conditions . to La drawn up by the Mayor. It was decided that the Electrical Department furnish a report on outstanding accounts. Several, ratepayers in Clifford Stroet j wrote asking that something be done to the path between Fox, and Sheehan streets. It was decided that ail that could be done ra the meantime was to put a little sand on the track, as the path in question has nob so far been even formed. Letters were received from several boroughs regarding,s the remit in connection with submitting plans prior to subdivision for sale to the Municipal Conference. Several residents in A berdeen Road, between Colxlen and Carnarvon Streets, wrote asking that some sand bo put along the centre of the road. It was decided to at code to the request. Owing to several complaints regarding the reckless mariner in which loose horses were driven through the streets, it was resolved to instruct the inspector to see that tiro by-laws in relation thereto were strictly enforced without fear or favor.
