After a debate, wherein a majority favored action, but without going to tlio expeiiso of a referendum, Mr Holman interposed and asked Mr Carmichael to explain why he took action without consulting the Government or tho caucus, when the proposal was not included in the Labor platform. Mr Carmichael replied Unit ho always thought members of the caucus wero bound to vote for matters on the platform or affecting the fate of the Government. The. Premier, who was as bewildering as a double negative, reversed the whole thing, and said if it is onc-sido the platform you have no right to bring it forward.
