ADDINGTON STOCK MARKETS. U'EESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM ) CHRISTCHURCH, July 28. At the Addington livo stock market the yardings of stock were again on a moderate scale and there was a good attendance. Fat cattle were firmer and there was a sharp rise in fab lambs and fat sheep and. from an exporter’s point of view, it was the dearest- market since the frozen meat trade started. Store sheep showed an improvement, especially for wethers. ' . Store Sheep—Forward 4 and 6-tooth wethers 22s to 23s JOd, very good 4 and 6-tooth wethers 19s 9d to 21s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 16s Id to 21s,' good wether hoggets 1-ts 2d to 16s lOd, fair wether hoggets 12s 3d to 13s 9d, inferior hoggets 10s to .1 Is 9d, cull hoggets 6s to 9s, good mixed hoggets l-is to 15s 3d, good owe hoggets 16s 9d to 18s Gd/inferior ewe hoggets 11s Hid to 14s, good sound-mouthed owes 16s 9d to 21s, failing mouth ewes 13s 6d to Lis 9d, aged ewes 4s Gd to 9s. Fat Lambs.—Prime lambs 22s 6d to 27s Gd, medium lambs 19s to 225, lighter 12s to 18s Gd, extra prime lambs to 30s 3d. Fat Sheep.—Extra prime wethers to 37s 3d, prime wethers 21s to 31s 9d, others 20s to 23s 6d, merino we mors 20s to 29s 7d, extra prime ewes to 37s Gd, prime ewes 22s Gd to 30s, medium ewes 18s Gd to 225, inferior ewos 13s 2d to 18s. Fat Cattle.—The principal sales were: Extra steers to £27 15s, ordinary steers £9 t0.£12 10s, extra heifers to £lB, ordinary heifers £6 to £9 ss, extra cows to £ls 10s. ordinary vows £5 17s Gd to £9 10s. Price of licet nor 1001 bs 30s to 445, extra to 465. Store Cattle—Yearlings 35s to £2 4s Gd, 15 to IS-minths £2 IGs to £3 11s, two-year steers £4 7s to £5, 2year heifers £4 10s, 3-year steers £6 5s to £G 7s Gd, 3-year heifers (passed) at £7 ss, dry cows 27s to £O, dairy cows £3 10s to £ll 1.55. Eat Pigs.—Exceptionally good baeoners to £5 Gs Gd, heavy haconers 70s to 70s, light haconers 55s to Gss (price per lb Gd to 6.)c1), heavy porkers 42s to -IBs, light porkers 36s to 40s (price per lb Gd to 6(d). Store Pigs.-—Medium stores 25s to 80s, small stores 18s to 245, weaners 6s (for small) to 14s (for extra good).
