MANGAPAPA TOWN BOARD

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. Tho fortnightly mooting of tin Mangapapa Town Board was Judd lasi night; There wore present: W. .) AloCliskie (chairman), C. A. Fenwick 0. Matthews. E. Grundy, J. Walsh and R, M. 8011. Tho Gisborne Gas Company wrote, advising that they had opened up Ormond Road for the purpose of putting down tho street, lamps? An application was received from Mr IT. Neill to build a shed and buggy house in the town district. The application was granted, subject to tho by-laws being complied wu.il. It was decided to charge 2s Gd for copies of the Board’s new hy-laws, now in the hands of the printers. The sum of Co 7 I2si 8d being a third of the Board’s levy towards Hospital and Charitable Aid administration, was passed for payment. It was decided to apply to the authorities for direct representation on the Cook Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. It was decided to forward notices to all householders that they would have to comply with the provisions of the sanitary by-laws. The Chairman reporter! that the contractor for the sanitary service had commenced work, and matters, were being carried out ,satisfactorily. A month’s leave of absence was granted to Air C. A. Fenwick. The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr R. Grierson, one of the Board’s employees, who is proceeding to the front, expressing satisfaction with the services he had rendered to the Board and wishing .him a safe return, after which the Board would be pleased to reinstate him in his 'position as roadman. It was decided to write to Airs O’Owver, informing her that unless she had the bod of the creek running through her property cleared of obstructions, the Board would have the work done at her expense. Accounts amounting to £l2O 14s were passed for payment.
