Some'of the most representative of the German papers have recently, with Teutonic 4 scorn, proclaimed thatGermany is the only nation capable of trulv'hating. Thh Englishman, with his mild and softened outlook, is not equal to such frenzy. As for the French, doubtless they are too polite ; the Americans are too commercialized, ami so on down the roll. Germany alone, being superior to all the others, is capable of genuine hate. . The, facts seem to bear out this boast. The genuine hate, ol course, that is, the pure article, admits of no palliative. To hate is to he cruel, to burn, to torture, mutilate, violate, rob strip, ravaixe, destroy without mercy. Who is there who would dare dismite Germany’s claim to this preeminence? —“Life. ’
