FURTHER DUNEDIN CASES. (Press Association Telegram.j DUNEDIN. Aug. 5-. Two more corcbro-spinal-ineningitis contracts were admitted to the AYailcari Hospital to-day. There are now 21 soldiers in the hospital, but all arc. able to be up and about and are progressing very favorably. ONE CHRISTCHURCH CASE,
CHRISTCHURCH. Aug. 5. The report- that there is. only one case *of ccrebro-spiiu[-meningitis in Christchurch was to-day confirm*! oy Dr Chesson, Public Health.. Officer. who told a press representative teat -Uiore was no cause whatever for alarm or for anv suggestion that the .disease might seriously spread. Tins particular case, Dr Uiesson added., was probably the result of living in aft overcrowded house under insanitary conditions. Every * precaution Ha« been taken to avoid infection, and Dm man’s family were now isolated hospital, as' contacts for observation. Tho man himself was progressing-rav-orablv. In addition to thn: definite ca.se/there is, another of a soldier on leave from Trent-ham. This man is now isolated at -the hospital as a suspect "“carrier” of die disease, though not actually suffering hmisylt. His family are also isolated -.or observation as contacts . ■ - This case. Dr Chesson states, » Quito distinct from the. one previously mentioned, in,which .spinal meningitis has? actually manifested it-scu.
