Mount Victoria lias been scratched for the Winter Cup, and Tragedy King for all Ins engagements at the National Meeting. At Rieearton on Saturday morning Runpaui was not on a time-making mission, but he went very nicely over six furlongs. Toki rattled over half a mile pleasingly in 50soc. The best gallop of the morning was accomplished by the Winter Cup candidate Banksia. With a light weight up she slipped over six furlong* in 1.14 2-5, a really smart achievement. Sir Donald (Marehant), Art (D. McKay), 'and Kilmeny (»?cobie) were associated in a round over the schooling hurdles. The first-named pair raced almost on terms all through, hut it was quite evident that Sir Donald had Art’s measure throughout the concluding stages. Kilmeny, who is not so forward as his companions, finished three lengths away. It was a. splendid exhibition of jumping on the part of the trio, and made many friends for both Sir Donald and Art. Morning (A. Julian) and Rustic (amateur) were sent for a school over the big fences, but they were so ui matched as to discount the merits of the gallop. After crossing the first fence the Grand National favorite drew right away from his companion, out-jump-ing him at every obstacle. Morning maintained a solid pace throughoutand seeing that he was practically jumping by himself his exhibition was a satisfactory one. Glenyar and Boor finished in front of Birkline at the end of a five furlong gallop, the last four of which occupied 51 sec.—“ Sun.” Thy two-year-old narado at the j Pakuranga. The winner and Rita sea were amongst the quickest to get going, but in me run to the post Old triform and Juanna displaced Ritasen, Lady Jack, who is. a halfsister to Jack Delava! defeating Cultriforrn by a neck, with Juanna close up third.
