Tlu; .Deputy-Chief' Censor lias submitted a, memorandum to the Defence Department regarding complaints as to the censorship of war news, assuring tho public that practically the whole of the information as regards the Dardanelles operations is in the hands of the press. The matter withheld is of small minor importance. He considers that the right to comment and reasonable liberty of the press are not interfered with, and encourages the publication of soldiers’ letters.
