ENTERTAINMENTS.
RATHE' PICTURES. 'An unusual attraction will be. introduced by Patlie Pictures at His Majesty’s Theatre to-night, when tho mueii-talkcd-of Vitagraph success, “Tho .Mischief-Maker,” will head the mid-week change. This is, a brilliant presentment of Elaine Sterne’s powerful story of a woman’s desperate jealousy, and the Vitagraph dramatisation caused quite a furore in the, States and Great Britain a few months hack. Here we have a domestic drama with some fine drama-tie surprises. Two girls home from a board-ing-school are in love with tho same friend of each. He is not sure which one lie likes best-, and will make, his wife. An accident reveals that he loves Dolly. Anita hear:; the proposal, and is filled with jealousy, and does all that a jealous woman can do to separate the lovers and cause strife. The action of the play is rapid anti tense. Anita sticks, at nothing that will create dissension, hut- in the end she is frustrated, ami tho husband agrees with his wife that there will be no chance of anyone causing pain again. The snsj mnse is maintained to the end. The supporting films are all of a high order of merit. “The 'Paining of Sunnybrook Nell” is a dainty narrative oi’ American life, with a pretty love storv running through it like a silver ribbon. A nr-Ling Kalorn railroad drama, “The Night Operator at Buxton,” contains many exciting incidents, while “Adventures or a Missing Legacy” will he found to ho*a rollicking farce with a strong Irish flavor. The latest “Australian Gemetic” will show tlie Niagara in Calliope dock at Auckland, the record one-day collection of £IOO,OOO in aid of the Belgian Fund at Sydney, and some move clever cartoons by Harry Julius. A pleasing and instructive film to lovers of animals will be “VYynnn s Prize Horses, while “Caught in the Park” is a dazzling Keystone, in which Syd. Chaplin is seen to great advantage. r l his magnetic new offering will be screened to choice new music by the popular orchestra.
