DUNEDIN SESSIONS. (Press Association Telegram.) DUNEDIN, Aug. 11. In the Supreme Court to-day James Kirkman was convicted on a charge of threatening to burn down the \ ictoria Bridge Hotel, near Kawarau Gorge, but was recommended for clemency owing to the excited state he was in when lie made the threat. sentence was deferred. John Robert Henderson, qf Milton, was charged with stealing £2Q paid to him on behalf of the 14th Otago Regiment and with making a false entiy with intent to defraud. Accused was convicted on both counts, but was recommended for leniency on account or laxity in keeping accounts and maKing disbursements. Sentence was - ferred. A charge against accused ot stealing £5 received for ammunition is partly beard. WELLINGTON SESSIONS. WELLINGTON, Aug. IT At tlio Supreme Court George I oilman, convicted on a charge of indecently assaulting a .crippled gi r L was remanded for sentence. , John Dickson, formerly an attendant at Porirua Mental Hospital, was i acquitted of a charge of manslaughter i arising out of tho death of a patient i named Hamblyn, who suffered shock as the result of, being scalded m a bath.
