WORKERS’ DWELLINGS. (Press Association Telesram.‘ WELLINGTON. Aug. 11. Cabinet has .authorised the erection of 100 workers’ dwellings, involving an estimated expenditure of £50,000 At the ■ time authority was applied for, about 200 applications for dwellings bad been received by the Labor Department from all parts of New Zealand. At present the Department and its agents are engaged in making the necessary enquiries and arrangements with a view to proceeding with the building programme. BISHOP CLEARY’S ILLNESSAUCKLAND. Aug. 11. Latest reports from Sydney indicate that the condition of Dr. H. W. Cleary, Roman Carbolic Bishop or Auckland, is causing grave anxiety. Recent cables announce that he is very weak ami tmtt there has been no improvement during tiie last, few days in his condition, which is regarded as serious.
