Orders for the supply of -50.000 sheepskin coats for winter clothing for the British Annv will shortly be placed in New Zealand through the Now Zealand Government. The coats are to ho without sleeves, fastened down the front with straps, and about as long as an ordinary runic-. About an inch and a halt of woo, wiU be left on the skins. For the New Zealand troops, winter coats of sheepskins are being made bv committees of women throughout the country, but these latter coats aie being made of skins without wool, no weight of the sample coat for tin British troops is two pounds ana alialf.

He says that in Alexandria the- authorities place so much value, on tins work that they have provided large buildings and ‘ Landed them over to ■the Y.M.C.A. In Cairo also a large central building—the old German Club—has been secured, and is now in use as a Soldiers' Club, in oidet to counteract the evils of Eastern hie.
