Major Savage leaves a wiaow and four children. Mr. .J. P. McLisky, who is leaving for Trent ham shortly with the Sth (Reinforcements. was entertained on Saturday evening by his feLov-coar-d--r----and y/resented with a wristlet and a safety razor. Mr. J. F. Donnelly. in making the presentation on behalf of those who had lived with Air. McLisky for some years and knew him best, made graceful reference to his many good qualities as a thorough sport and his open-handed, generosity to his friends in the hour or neen. Other speeches followed, in which thpatriotic element predominated. Musical items were contributed: by Messrs Hugh Kcnrick (violin solo). Mr. J. T. Jordan (euphonium solo). Mr. J. FDonnelly (song. “Little Grey House in the West”). Mr. A. Campbell (sens. “Okl Jim’s Christmas Hymn”), Mr. A. Robson (recitation, “'Tlie Flies' March Round the Sugar Basin”). M; Ja-s. Jones (recitation, “Reminiscvnc-*' of the Racecourse”). Mr. H. Watkmson (song. “The Soldier’s Dreanv*’). and iMr. hrcLisky recited Tennyson’s grand p- cm. “The Relief of Lucknow.”
