OTOKO ROAD
CLOSED AGAIN
TRAIN FOR OVERLAND ROUTE TO AUCKLAND.
Motorists <m the Otoko-Motu road this year are- apparently doomed to disappointment, for agaiiy the road is impassable for motortraffic. Yester,day service and private cars had difficulty in making the trip. Last night eight service cars were stuck in the mud at Rakauroa. They had tried to make the trip down from Motu and th.e rain caught them. The road will now he closed for a further period until two days’ fine weather hardens the surface. Passengers by the overland route lor Auckland will have_to take the tram from Gisborne to the railhead, where they will be met by the various motor services. Passengers by the morning train will reach Opotiki in the evening, leaving for Rotorua the next morning. Passengers on the afternoon train will stop at Motu for the night. * /- -,
