WHANGARA SPORTS

SUCCESSFUL MEETING

Although the weather was inclined to be showery the Whangara Sports Club’s annual fixture held on on Thursday was most successful. There was a good attendance of spectators including a number of townspeople and most events were well competed for. The standard of the horses in most of the events was well up to that at any other similar sports gathering held in the district this year. The medal donated by the judge, Mr Ei. fv. Fitzgerald, for the competitor scoring most points m the horse events was won by J. Jobson.

The conduct of the' meeting' reflected credit on the officials concerned especially the secretary, Mr li. Hanesn. Results are as follows:
