The death is reported in Adelaide of Dr. Rennie, Professor of Chemistry in the Adelaide University.— u.p.a. Advices from Nice state that the Duke of Connaught has recovered from his recent indisposition.— A. and N.Z.i.A. Mr. E. R. Haldane, of the Public Trust Office, Gisborne, returned yesterday after' spending a holiday at Taupo, Vaikaremoana and Rotorua Mr. George Chuck, of Napier, whslr has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Kirk during the last lew days, returned home by service car on Saturday. A Hamilton message states that another bereavement has been suffered by the Rt. Rev. C. A. Ciierrmgton. Bishop of Waikato, who lost lib wife six weeks ago, and now has been advised of the death of his mother after being knocked down by a lorry in Nottinghamshire, England.—P.A.
A Delhi cable reports that Sir Samuel and Lady Hoare have arrived there by air, completing the journey of 6300 miles from London in 63 flying hours, the exact time fixed. For most of the journey the speed was 120 miles iiouriv-—A. and -v/ CA.
On Saturday afternoon a Kahuna rink comprising Messrs. Ah Power, J. Newton, G. Roderick and J. J. Martin (skip) left in Air. Martin A car for Auckland to participate in the Dominion bowling tournament. The party reached Rotorua last evening, and intend to proceed onwards this morning.
A message from A’ictoria (Britis Columbia) states that the Niagar
arrived on Saturday flying her flag at half-mast. Mrs. R. M. Graham, Cl, a saloon passenger, and an invalid. died three days out from Honolulu. Deceased was accompanied by her husband, son and daughter. The bodv was brought ashore at Victoria —A. and N.Z.C.A
