DOMINION" CH'AMIMONSH IP TO COMMENCE TO-DAY AUCKLAND, Jan. 8. The fourteenth annual championship tournament of the Dominion Bowling Association is to commence at 9 a.m., on Monday, and will be continued throughout the week. There are '3BO competitors, of whom half will he visitors, representing all parts of New Zealand, besides New South Wales ancl Victorian players. Eighteen greens have been requisitioned and special care taken to have them in tournament condition. Although the frequent heavy rains of the past few weeks have made the work of preparation exceedingly difiicujt, a majority of the greens are' playing accurately, and if sunny days predominate next week they will soon become fast enough to satisfy the most exacting expert. The official headquarters will lie at the Carlton Club's green. Play will commence with the singles championship and the keenest interest is being taken in the contests between the various provincial champions.— P.A. ■
