'BUS OVERTURNS

NO ONE HURT

VEHICLE LATER, DESTROYED B Y FIRE

DUNEDIN, Jan. 10,

In an effort to avoid a car coming from the opposite direction near Puketeraki on Saturday morning, one of Hope Bros, buses .skidded in the grass at the side of the road, and turned over three times before it finally settled down ’ against the trunk of a tree. Fortunately, there were only two people in the bus at the time, the driver and another man, and they escaped unhurt. It is understood the car belonged to the Seacliff Mental Hospital, and the occupants were in search of a patient who had escaped. The tius was left lying on the roadside, and a passer-by to-day noticed that it had been completely destroyed by fire. It is also reported that everything of a moveable nature had been pilfered.—P.A.
