LONDON SALES

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their head office, London, elated January 10, 1927 : The list of arrivals dosed on are available: Capo wool 1500 bales; South American wool 2500 bales; New Zealand wool 16,500 bales; Australian wool 59,500 Males; carried forward 40,000 bales.

WOOL TRADE. Writing on December 23, Winchcombe, Carson, Ltd. sta.te that now more than half the season’s Australian clip has been sold. The most attractive portion of it will be submitted in the new year, l'ine wool is in favour at present, and the finer grades are those which will be 'mostly offered from now onwards. The firm states that many buyers already have orders for now year sales. Dealing with the wool situation in ether countries, the firm remarks that stocks of wool held in the United States on September 30' were the lowest for many years, and were G per cent, less than the holding of three months earlier. They amounted to 375,713,00€11b. While such figures might look large, it should be remembered that a huge activity like the woollen industry of the United States has always to have substantial supplies of raw material on hand.
