JACKIE COOGAN JN ’’LONG LIVE THE KING.”

Jackie Coogan is the star v of the Metro special, “Long Live the King,” which tho Palace Theatre will screen for tho last time to-night. The story is from the widely-read novel of Mary Roberts Rinehart, which tells of the adventures of a little crown price oi an obscure state in the Balkans, who is a pawn in the plots of two bands of conspirators, one, within tho kingdom, a revolutionary band and the other a neighboring kingdom. They both aim to prevent the little prince appearing before his people at the time of the old king’s death knowing that they would then be able to sway the people. And when the king died it seemed as if their plans had borne fruit for the little Prince Otto was not to be found. All Lavonia was mad with joy. Karl, of Karnia, had arrived. Soon he and Hedwig, their beloved Princess, would be married; and Karl, once their worst enemy, would now be their greatest friend. But in a secret corner of the groat city a band of conspirators, led by tlie notorious Black Humbert, met and hatched a great plot. Little Otto, the Crown Prince, was to be kidnapped, and,, once spirited away, the kingdom would fall into their hands. How this band worked and how little Otto escaired is told in the terrifically absorbing film epic.
