WIRELESS “FIENDS”

ENTHUSIASTS tt'HO USE OSCULATING SETS. .

NOT “PLAYING THE GAME.”

(Special to the Times.)

AUCKLAND, Jan. 12. Some strong remarks for the benefit of wireless enthusiasts who use oscillating sets were made by the announcer of IYA last cvenirfg, during the interval of a. special concert which was broadcast. He said: “Last night I was listening in for Australian stations after we closed down here, and it was a perfect nightmare. First one fiend would howl his set and then hundreds or others, would do the same in an attempt to follow the other fellow, ' said the announcer. “It is not playing the game, and you people who are overstraining your valves by forcing them should remember that there are others besides yourselves who also want to listen in. If you try a little patience you will find that you get excellent results. Try reducing your fillament consumption, and don’t overtax your valves. \ou may not know it." hub to do so is illegal according to the Tost Office regulations. If an improvement is not effected shortly, we will have to insist that sets which re-radiate are not installed.”
